159 Wellesley Street - Recently Sold to Alterra
Recently sold to Alterra and redesigned by Richmond Architects Ltd.
Diamond Corp and Kilmer Brownfield Equity Fund formed a joint venture to transform an underutilized downtown brownfield site. This redevelopment and remediation of a former gas station showcases design excellence in an elegant tower. The Zoning design was by Quadrangle Architects and the building featured a very slender floor plate size which was highlighted by curvatures in the building's elevations. This development benefits from excellent transit and access to amenities.
Throughout the approval process, one of our major project goals was community engagement. We successfully collaborated with Art City, a local non-profit children’s art camp program, for the design of our construction hoarding. Dozens of children and youth from the local neighbourhood designed and painted the colourful mural, which plays on a child’s perspective of the city skyline. Review our media posting regarding our construction hoarding mural launch.
