Habitat for Humanity Families are the Winners at 159 Wellesley

Toronto condo developer Diamond Corp. and Habitat for Humanity Toronto are teaming up to create eight affordable family units in a 35-storey downtown highrise.

“This is very exciting, this is a first. We are very excited to work with Habitat and to deliver the eight units to them,” says Bob Blazevski, executive vice president of the Diamond Corp., which along with the Kilmer Brownfield Fund, is developing 159 Wellesley E.. “Hopefully, this will be a catalyst for similar projects.”

Toronto Condo Would be Splash of Colour in Sea of Grey

Because I would like to see innovative applications of colour in contemporary architecture, I perked up when I saw the first rendering of a distinctly red 52-storey condominium tower proposed for a Sherbourne Street site just south of Bloor Street East. This condo stack may not, in the end, inject colour that’s very strong into its stretch of Sherbourne; the work is still at an early stage, and the exact appearance of its skin is not settled.
